Am i able to generate real time quantity takeoffs directly from my bim model without manual calculations

Accurate quantity takeoffs are essential for cost estimation and procurement in my construction project. However, the traditional process of measuring dimensions from 2D drawings or extracting quantities manually from BIM models can be time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to update as the design evolves. Am I able to instantly generate takeoffs from my 3D model as I design, without switching tools or exporting data?

Yes, with BidLight, you can generate real-time quantity takeoffs (QTO) directly from your Revit BIM model—with no manual calculations or exports required. Here’s how it works: Instant QTO from Revit: As you model in Revit, BidLight’s plugin extracts all relevant quantities (walls, doors, slabs, MEP elements, etc.) automatically—no tagging, manual measuring, or exporting needed. Live Updates: Any change to the model—adding a floor, changing material thickness, revising layout—immediately updates the quantity takeoff. The takeoff evolves with your design. Categorized by CSI Divisions: Elements are automatically grouped into work breakdown structures (e.g., by trade, assembly, or CSI code), making the data ready for estimation, procurement, and scheduling. No Switching Tools: BidLight runs directly inside Revit as a dockable panel. You never need to leave your BIM environment to view or adjust your takeoffs. Export-Ready: When needed, the takeoff can be exported in Excel or integrated into cost reports instantly, without reformatting. This eliminates hours of manual work and ensures that your QTO is always current, accurate, and aligned with the live design—whether you're in early planning or preconstruction.
