Make it specific, tie it to the model and name the owner.</p> <ul><li><strong>Tie the RFI to a real decision.</strong> &quot;Please confirm ceiling height&quot; gets ignored. &quot;Confirm 9&#39;-6&quot; clearance on drawing A-201, it affects duct routing&quot; gets answered.</li><li><strong>Reference the model, not just the drawing set.</strong> Point to the exact element instead of writing prose.</li><li><strong>Show what is waiting.</strong> An RFI that shows which elements and trades stall without an answer moves up the pile.</li><li><strong>Route it to the right person the first time.</strong> Vague RFIs bounce between GC, architect and engineer.
